Each of the Institute "BIOR" employees is responsible for compliance with the Code of Ethics of the Institute.
In order to achieve business goals, the staff shall observe the following ethical principles:
- independence;
- integrity;
- impartiality;
- professional competence and due care;
- confidentiality;
- professional action.
Staff of the Institute implements the basic principles established in the Code of Ethics, but in the situations which are not defined in this Code, their actions is carried out in accordance with generally accepted principles of morality and behaviour.
Ethics policy of BIOR – to ensure objective testing and calibration results free of any external interference.
Status and work organization in BIOR laboratories exclude the possibility of any laboratory outsider person’s or organization’s commercial, financial or other impact to the testing/calibration or results of testing/calibration which may endanger confidence of the laboratory's independence and integrity.
The laboratory is responsible for the cliient's property rights. Responsibility refers to samples, documents and information.
BIOR ensures and controls compliance with the requirements of confidentiality.
The obtained testing / calibration results are announced to the client in the testing report or calibration certificate including all information requested by the client and required for interpretation of testing / calibration results.
Testing reports and calibration certificates are issued only to the client.
In cases of detection of dangerous infectious diseases, laboratory shall act in accordance with existing legislation of the Republic of Latvia on dangerous infectious disease outbreak detection and elimination, as far as it relates to laboratory test results notification procedures.
