On September 23 all over Europe occurred the annual Researchers' Night. Latvia participated at this event for the 6th time, but for the Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment BIOR, as a new scientific institute, it was a new opportunity and experience opening its doors for visitors.
During the evening about 400 people visited BIOR. Among the visitors were students, teenagers, families with pre-school age children and other enthusiasts of science.
Scientists of the institute had prepared six presentations: identification of E substances in food, testing your sensory abilities by determination various tastes and smells of food products, measuring the electromagnetic field and its transmitting radiation effects on human being, using a microscope looking for and finding out different parasites in food and animal samples as well as opportunity to wear a special clothing and get into the role of top-level biosafety laboratory employee's.
Management of the institute BIOR and organizers are satisfied with the event of Researchers’ Night and wish to thank all visitors for their interest and complimentary references. The Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment BIOR will evaluate this experience and will do its best for interest and conveniences of visitors next year.
