From 4-5 July, management of the Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment “BIOR” on a working visit attended the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) in Berlin.
Objective of the visit - to get acquainted with the experience of German colleagues in the field of food safety risk assessment and to discuss possible cooperation in research and development.
At the beginning of the visit President of BfR Professor Dr.Dr. Andreass Hensel and Director of “BIOR” Rafaels Joffe presented the structure and work organization of their institutions. During the meeting colleagues from BfR told about their experience and practice in risk assessment, organization and cooperation with other national and European institutions. The parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation, jointly implementing research projects in field of food safety.
At the end of the visit guests were able to visit laboratories of BfR in Marienfelde - Department for Biological safety as well as animal husbandry (unit for reference material and certification).
